About the Multimedia Pathway

The Multimedia Pathway at Vallejo High School, is an introduction to the creative industry, including but not limited to the Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and inDesign, iMovie, Garageband, and other industry-standard applications.
During the course, students will be introduced to a variety of potential careers in the fields including film, digital art, broadcast, website creation and management, coding, podcasting, public relations, and other allied careers. Students visit Bay Area companies involved in the industry. In 2022, a field trip to KTVU-Channel 2 at Jack London Square provided a tour and Q&A about how broadcast news is created
Program
The pathway consists of an Intro to Multimedia class, which is articulated with Solano College Community College for college credit. This is followed with an additional intermediate course for students to learn advanced techniques. A capstone project that spans the entire school year completes the cycle.
Curriculum
The curriculum and standards are based on the California CTE recommended course description (Create Free Account to View).
Students are introduced to basic HTML, web creation and contributing to and managing a digital school magazine, Tumataas ang Redhawks.
